Access to a vibrant shopping and nightlife area
Shibuya is a vibrant shopping area with many department stores ( Tokyu, Tokyu Honten, Seibu, 109 for men and Hikarie...). It 's also known for its nightlife and for its crossing nicknamed " Times Square of Tokyo".
The stationThe building of the station is also a department store and is split in three different areas :the JR Station, the Keio Station and the subways station.
JR platforms, Keio Station and Subway
The Keio station is in the Shibuya Mark City Department Store. It is a departure station for the Keio Inokashira Line between Shibuya and Kichioji. Station Map and train timetables ate available on the Keio Corporation Website.
The JR Station is in the heart of the station. Two platforms are dedicated to the JR Yamanote Line (1 and 2) and two platforms (3 and 4) are for the Saikyo Line, the Shonan Shinjuku line, the Narita Express to Narita Airport and the Zushi Line.
In the basement, many subway lines are in connections : the Tokyu Toyoko Line, the Tokyu Den en toshi Line, the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, the Tokyo Metro Futukoshin Line.
The Ginza Line platform is at the second floor.
Where to get my Japan Rail Pass at Shibuya Station?
To exchange your Japan Rail pass voucher, you will have to go at the South Information Center near the South Exit and the JR East Travel Center (see JR East Map below).
On each side of the station, you will also find a bus station with departure for Keio Bus, Odaikyu Bus, Tokyu Bus and Toei Bus.
